#TheYearinBooks – One for them and one for me

One for them: Emma Dodd - Me

Emma Dodd - Me

One for them:

Recently, my cousin gave us a whole heap of books that her two little girls had grown out of. Some of them are still a bit too long for Theo to concentrate on, but this series of books by Emma Dodd are just the sweetest I’ve come across in a long time. This book in particular is my favourite. It’s about how big the world is and how small the teeny little baby penguin is, but how it doesn’t matter because the little baby penguin is the most important thing in the big penguin’s life. So cute. And also, a nice rhythm for reading out loud.

Reading for you: The Taxidermist's Daughter

One for you:

Absolutely loved The Taxidermist’s Daughter by Kate Mosse. So atmospheric and haunting. A story of how our pasts always catch up with us, one way or another… Another author who I know has a huge backlist that I have only just dipped my toe into. Definitely reading more by her soon.

Taking part in the One for them and one for you project along with Carie and Claire. What are you reading and what are you reading to your little ones right now?

I really enjoyed The Taxidermist’s Daughter too. I read it a few months ago and it was my first Kate Mosse. I will definitely read more of her books in future. Me sounds great too (I don’t have children but I work wit them and I love reading children’s books!)
